The wait for Spider-Man 2, the new installment of the Insomniac Games saga for PS5, is long for fans. And Sony knows it.
As mentioned on the PlayStation Blog, Spider-Man 2 will be available in the fall of 2023. The Japanese company has not mentioned an exact date, but at least we can already have an idea of how long we will have to wait to put the hands on, one of the big PlayStation 5 exclusives for the next calendar.
To assuage the cravings, Insomniac Games Creative Director Bryan Intihar shared a message with fans. What a year it has been for PlayStation Studios. We at Insomniac Games have been absolutely amazed by the work of our peers. Congratulations to all on a successful 2022…and I hope the year ahead continues to be just as exciting as we continue to prepare Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for release next fall.”
Granted, Sony’s decision to release Spider-Man 2 in the fall of 2023 comes as no surprise. After all, it maintains the logic of its predecessors. Let’s not forget that Spider-Man debuted on PlayStation 4 on September 7, 2018, while Spider-Man: Miles Morales debuted on PS4 and PS5 on November 12, 2020.
Spider-Man 2 is coming to PS5 in Fall 2023
Other than the confirmed season premiere for Spider-Man 2, Sony and Insomniac Games have not provided any additional details about the game itself. In fact, from PlayStation they only mentioned that much remains to be revealed about the title, so there will be no choice but to wait for more information to be released as we are already going through 2023.
The little we know about the game is that Peter Parker and Miles Morales will have to join forces to fight Venom, who will position himself as the great rival of the story. Remember that it will be the actor Tony Todd, known for having played in the series of horror films Candyman, who will lend his voice to the symbiote.
